Many new elements are intruced in this iteration of the series: The story unwinds and only becomes more intense as your party progresses through the ever-evolving environment. From that on day things are never quite the same in Tazmily. But that dream slowly turns into a nightmare when one day explosions set the forest ablaze and the animals become more aggressive.
It's a lifestyle that many people can only dream of. Set in the Nowhere Islands, you start off this adventure on a remote island in an unusually utopian town called Tazmily. By the time you finish MOTHER 3 you will laugh, you will cry, and you won't want it to end. You won't find an imitation of America in this game, but you will find many familiar themes, a wonderfully written diaglogue, a unique cast of characters, a new rhythm-based battle system, and a gripping story described by MOTHER series creator Shigesato Itoi as Strange, funny, & heartrending. You level up like most turned-based RPGs and fight like most others, but it is the story, you come to play Mother 3 for, not the mechanics.MOTHER 3, the follow up to the fan-favorite RPG EarthBound(MOTHER 2) and third in the MOTHER series, is an RPG that breaks the mold used by the two previous games in the series. This isn’t amazingly different, you’ve probably played mechanically. For example, Final Fantasy games like 1 and 2. The gameplay is classic turn-based RPG where the enemy takes a turn then you do like the Pokémon games and like the Final Fantasy games. Simple turned based gameplay like the classics. If you’re an indie game player this has that indie game feel to it and that’s never a bad thing.
The Mother 3 graphics could inspire any indie game dev today on their game if they’re looking to add that retro feel to their game. Mother 3 is retro games at its finest, it has a lot in common with the Pokémon games of old like Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Leaf Green graphically and mechanically, but Mother 3 was made 10 years after the original Pokémon games so this game is a lot more polished, refined and perfected. The game kind of goes gradually crazier from there and I don’t want to add in any more detail as this game has a great story and gameplay shouldn’t be spoiled, it should be experienced! The Retro feel doesn’t disappoint. After the invasion, you’ve lost your twin brother Claus.
